RUNY.com Sold for $15k After 15 Years of Ownership

On July 1st, 2010, I acquired Runy.com through SnapNames for $675. I was drawn to the name because it could stand for “Russians in NY”—perfect for a blog or a business targeting the Russian community in New York.

Over the 15 years I owned it, I received about eight serious offers, but none met my price—until recently, when a property management company, RUNY Inc., made an offer I couldn’t refuse. Interestingly, I only discovered the buyer’s identity after transferring the domain to their account.

This sale was also my first in-person transaction. Since the buyers were based in New York and New Jersey, they preferred handling the deal face-to-face.

In March 2025, two men arrived at my office with a certified check made out to my company. While there, I pushed the domain to their account, and ownership was transferred instantly.

I’ve purchased domains in person before, but this was my first time selling one that way. I wish RUNY Inc. great success with their new domain!
