How I Sold Harato.com for $4,999 on Atom

Jan 28, 2026

One of the most satisfying parts of domain investing is watching long-held assets quietly turn into solid exits. This week, I closed a deal that perfectly illustrates the long-term value of short, pronounceable domain names.

I sold Harato.com on Atom for $4,999.

Harato.com was originally a dropped domain that I picked up back in June 2017 for $59. At the time, it stood out for one simple reason: it was short, clean, and highly pronounceable. No obvious meaning, no forced keywords, just a strong brandable name that felt right.

Fast forward to today, and that patience paid off. After Atom’s 25% commission, I’ll net roughly 75% of the sale, which puts this firmly in the category of a strong ROI brandable exit.

After selling the domain, I did some light research and noticed that multiple companies already operate under the Harato name, including Harato.io. That’s usually a good signal, when a name is already in use, it confirms brand viability and market fit.

What makes Harato.com especially interesting is that it is 6 letters, is easy to pronounce, has no negative meanings, feels global, and is tech-friendly. It will be interesting to see how the buyer ultimately uses the domain. Whether it’s a rebrand, an upgrade from a .io, or a new venture entirely, the .com version adds immediate credibility.

This sale reinforces a pattern I’ve seen consistently. Quality 6-letter pronounceable .com domains routinely sell in the $2,999–$5,999 range. That’s exactly where most of my 6- and 7-letter pronounceable domains are priced, and Harato.com landing at $4,999 fits perfectly within that band. These names aren’t lottery tickets; they’re digital brand assets. When priced realistically and held patiently, they tend to find the right buyer.

On to the next one.
